Fish Oil and Arthritis Inflammation

The following article discusses the use of fish oil and its associated omega-3 fatty acids, in connection with arthritis inflammation -  you may find it interesting:

Fish oil has been proven to be effective in the role of healthy lifestyles. You have probably heard on the news, or read in a magazine about how good fish oil can be for you. But what is it about fish oil and the makeup of fish oil that makes it good for us? What benefits does fish oil have for our bodies? These are some of the things that will be discussed in this article.

Fish oil has certainly gotten a great deal of attention all over the world as a beneficial addition of a healthy lifestyle. There have been studies done by experts all over the world on omega fatty acids from fish oil and what makes it so healthy for us and its benefits to our bodies.

EPA is otherwise known as eicosapentaenoic acid is mostly found in fish oil. EPA is an omega 3 fatty acid. Unfortunately, most people do not get enough omega 3 fatty acids in their diet. Omega fatty acids can be obtained from eating fish like salmon, cod liver, herring, and mackerel. Consumption of certain fish can be toxic in large amounts therefore fish oil supplements are used as an alternative.

DHA is otherwise known as docosahexaenoic acid and is also found in fish oil. DHA is an omega 3 fatty acid. Some studies have shown that omega 3 fatty acids have a good benefit to your brain and memory. It can help prevent or slow down the process of Alzheimer’s disease. Low levels of DHA have been associated with depression, Bipolar disorder, other mood disorders, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), schizophrenia, and anxiety disorders. Our brains are actually made up of mostly fat, which is why it is so important for us to consume natural and good fats such as EPA and DHA.

DHA and EPA are mostly found in fish we eat. The components in fish oil, EPA and DHA can be very beneficial to the body. Studies on EPA have shown that it can also help those with heart disease, help to lower bad cholesterol, skin conditions, and inflammation from arthritis, help balance moods, and increase better learning. There are so many benefits it is difficult to list them all. EPA and DHA can help you live a happier and healthier life mentally and physically.

With all of these benefits, why wouldn’t you be trying to increase your consumptions of omega 3 fatty acids? It is never too late to start getting more DHA and EPA into your body to help increase all of its good functions so you can live happier and healthier. Studies have already shown that omega 3 essential fatty acids have an improvement on all of the health problems listed above. There are studies going on right now, because these fatty acids are so important they might have some more scientific answers for other health problems.

Promoting and maintaining a state of wellness requires a dynamic balance of hormones known as eicosanoids. Eicosanoids are powerful cell regulators that help maintain virtually all body functions including the brain, the heart and the immune system. Daily supplementation with pharmaceutical grade fish oils rich in the long-chain omega-3 essential fatty acids, EPA and DHA, is critical for maintaining optimal eicosanoid balance throughout the body.

The important thing to remember here, is that the use of fish oil in connection with arthritis relief, is about reducing the symptoms in a way that provides some additional health benefits. For a complete solution to arthritis, you need to deal with the source of the problem, namely, the immune system attacking itself. Natural Remedies for Arthritis

It is a popular notion today, to believe that the only available treatments for osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, is pain management in a way that minimises risk to the patient as much as possible. This is simply not true.

The medical profession does a marvellous job when it comes to diagnosing conditions and diseases, or in surgical procedures that save lives every day. But when it comes to prescribing solutions to the diagnosed conditions, they are heavily under the influence of the pharmaceutical industry.

Truth is, more peoeple die or become seriously disabled from drug related side effects, than from the original conditions themselves. Another truth is, that whereas drugs override and often harm our bodies’ natural defence systems, natural remedies nourish and work alongside our immunological pathways.

When it comes to arthritis help, it’s important you do your own research, as there is plenty of information available on arthritis drugs and their side effects.

In our modern world, we have become conditioned to want everything instantly, including arthritis pain relief. Natural remedies for arthritis on the other hand, are not always the quickest remedies, but they are much safer and more permanent. This is because their focus is on treating the cause, not the symptoms. It takes time to correct the imbalances in our bodies that are causing our immune system to become confused and attack itself (which is the main cause of arthritis).

Natural is always best.

An American company has developed a new product, appropriately named “Supple“. They have packaged the most potent natural ingredients known to provide arthritis relief, such as glucosamine and chondroitin, into a delicious fruit juice drink. To this they’ve added a cocktail of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals which work synergistically to provide what they claim to be “pharmaceutical strength” arthritis relief in a natural product that avoids the risks associated with drugs.

The promoters believe that for less than the cost of a small bottle of fruit juice each day, their product can bring arthritis relief in just 7 days, with the added “side effects” of feeling younger and losing weight.

Sound too good to be true? One way to find out.

The Natural Way to Ease Joint Pain

This article is about honey and vinegar. Manuka honey and apple cider vinegar to be precise -
two of the most powerful natural ingredients you can add to your diet.

Let’s start with apple cider vinegar?

Well, this little marvel has been used as a health tonic since ancient Egyptian times. It’s even mentioned in The Bible as an antiseptic and healing agent.

And it’s no wonder they held apple cider vinegar in such high esteem. This substance is loaded with goodies that can help all sorts of ailments, from high blood pressure and food poisoning to getting rid of bad cholesterol and reducing stress.

But one of its main powers is its ability to fight joint disease.

According to Sally Fenn, a leading nutritionist and health writer, vinegar is full of natural enzymes that can help dissolve uric acid, which breaks down the calcium deposits lurking in your joints. At the same time, the vinegar builds up the minerals needed for healthy bone
structure.

In simple terms, it makes joint-pain sufferers feel a whole lot better.

BUT… if you want to benefit from the full power of apple cider vinegar, it MUST be unpasteurised. But of course, big business doesn’t want to give you what’s best for you, it wants to give you what’s best for them…

The problem with most supermarket vinegars

When it comes to supplying you with foods, it’s not the nutritionists or doctors who dictate what you can and can’t have - it’s the marketing men. So, when it comes to apple cider vinegar, they take one look at it in its natural state and almost faint. All that colour, all those impurities… oh no, that just won’t do.

So they boil it to within an inch of its life till it’s clear and pretty and looks good on a shelf. But the trouble is, this process kills all the enzymes and removes vital nutrients.

So tip number one…

If you want the most powerful anti-inflammatory nutrients fighting in your corner, make sure you use unpasteurised apple cider vinegar.

And here’s another tip for you…

Although apple cider vinegar is good on it’s own, it’s even BETTER if you take it with manuka honey.

First off the honey acts as a natural sweetener, so you don’t have to hold your breath each time you swallow the vinegar.

And secondly, manuka honey packs a few nifty health punches of its own - one of the main ones being its effectiveness as an anti-inflammatory. So if you take a mixture of manuka honey with a good unpasteurised apple cider vinegar then BAM! Your joint pain won’t know what’s hit it.

You want to find a supplier whose honey cider vinegar is 100% pure… not like some varieties you can find in your local shop.

Now of course, if you want to simply drink it neat, there’s nothing stopping you. The manuka honey makes it sweet and easy to drink. Honestly, it’s really nice. But if you’d like to use it as part of a tasty meal, here is a great recipe that’s so easy to make.

Fennel, orange and chicken salad - the tasty way to ease joint pain

This simple recipe uses a healthy mixture of apple cider vinegar and honey for a delicious, quick lunch for two.

For the salad you’ll need:

- 1 fennel bulb, finely sliced
- 250g cooked chicken, roughly shredded
- 2 oranges, peeled and segmented
- Small handfuls of fresh parsley and mint
For the dressing:

- 1 1/2 tbsp olive oil, 1 1/2 tbsp flax oil
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar or apple cider
vinegar with active manuka honey
- Pinch of flaky sea salt
- Freshly ground black pepper

Here’s all you need to do.

- First, combine the salad ingredients in a bowl.
- Then whisk up the dressing - or place everything in a sealed jar and shake vigorously
- Now pour over the salad.
That’s all there is to it. And if you use this particular honey cider vinegar, you’ll be sure you’re getting the very best nutrients out of your meal…

Arthritis Pain Relief

Arthritis pain relief is a major problem for many people. This article explores some issues around the subject of osteoarthritis pain relief. You can find details on osteoarthritis diagnosis, osteoarthritis cause, osteoarthritis treatment and on how to obtain pain relief from arthritis.

The first stage of arthritis is swelling. The second stage is rapid division and growth of the cells. In the third stage the cells release specific enzymes, which erode the bone, causing the joint to lose its shape. It is then the arthritis pain becomes unbearable. Since this is a systemic disease, it can migrate and affect other body organs. So it is better to detect arthritis at its early stage before it spreads to other parts of the body. Arthritis can be treated with proper therapy and medication. 11

There are many different forms of arthritis, and each has a different cause. The most common form of arthritis, osteoarthritis (degenerative joint disease) follows trauma to the joint, after an infection of the joint or resulting from aging. Furthermore, emerging evidence suggests that abnormal anatomy might contribute to the early development of osteoarthritis. Other arthritis forms are rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis, which are autoimmune diseases wherein the body attacks itself. Septic arthritis is caused by joint infection. Gouty arthritis is caused by deposition of uric acid crystals in the joint, subsequently inflaming it.

Rheumatoid arthritis most commonly begins in the smaller joints of the fingers, hands and wrists. You will find that joint pain tends to include both sides of the body - if your left wrist is hurting, odds are your right wrist will also have pain. Typically, more joint erosion means more severe disease activity.

Rheumatoid arthritis pain is thought to involve an over activity of inflammatory agents from arachidonic acid. The main ingredients of fish oils (docosahexaenoic acid DHA and Eicosapentaenoic acid EPA), are known to block the formation of these inflammatory agents. Data shows that fish oil supplementation is good as a safe treatment for arthritis pain relief by alleviating the joint pain of rheumatoid arthritis and other inflammatory diseases.

As a result, natural arthritis pain relief is often much more effective because it treats the actual problem rather than just covering it up. Sometimes this may take some time as the pain relief is due to healing the body and it takes some time to repair.

It is long accepted in the Medical Community that successfully treating Arthritis pain involves a comprehensive treatment program consisting of exercise, stretching, and Anti Inflammatory Pain Relief Medication specific to a patient’s needs. Also factored in when designing a comprehensive treatment program for people with hand stiffness due to Arthritis is lifestyle, health history.

Arthritis treatment can range from using topical creams to over-the-counter analgesics to prescription drugs to joint replacement surgery. To improve the quality of life and decrease the incidence of debilitating pain, the most effective treatments focus on arthritis pain relief. Many peer-reviewed medical journals have documented the efficacy of a topical treatment that works by penetrating the sub-epidermal level of the skin, thereby blocking out pain transmitters and starting localized healing.

The topical lotion for arthritis pain relief is especially effective in reducing joint pain in the knees, hands, and lower back. It is also effective as a preventative measure for muscle pain and cramping before and after physical workouts, and can reduce the pain of tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, bursitis, and menstrual cramps.

Truly, arthritis pain relief can be obtained in an easy and natural way. There are no expensive drugs that you need to take. By practicing breathing, gentle exercises, and meditating every day, it is possible to lead a pain-free life with renewed energy and better health.

There is no single treatment that applies to everyone with arthritis, but rather the doctor will develop a management plan designed to minimize your specific pain and improve the function of your joints, and provide arthritis pain relief. A number of treatments can provide short-term pain relief.

Supple: Arthritis Help in a Delicious Drink

The search for arthritis pain relief is becoming more commonplace, as the “baby boom” generation comes of age. This growing need in the marketplace has given rise to many products claiming “we can take away your arthritis pain and change your life”.

Arthritis pain relief methods range from drugs on the one hand, to a focus on entirely natural ingredients on the other. This article is about completely relieving arthritis pain from the latter point of view. In my view, natural is always best and most definitely the safest. You want to nourish your system, not override or suppress it. You want to cure the problem, not bury the symptoms.

We are reviewing a product called Supple - The Answer to Arthritis Pain in a Delicious Drink. The promoters claim it contains “powerful ingredients discovered by over 13 million people to naturally rebuild cartilage and relieve the symptoms of arthritis”.

The idea is that you drink one bottle per day and they claim that “you should feel a significant difference within 7 days and better every week”. They give a 30 day money back guarantee, but I notice from the ‘fine print’ that to get it you must call their Customer Satisfaction Dept for a Return Authorisation Number and there is a limit of one return event per person. Perfectly reasonable I suppose.

So what are the advantages of Supple, as opposed to arthritis pain relief in tablet or capsule form? It is well known today that our bodies absorb far more of any nutrient product if taken in liquid organic, preferably colloidal, form, rather than tablets. More efficient absorbtion means greater beneficial effect.

The two best known ingredients for arthritis pain relief are glucosamine and chondroitin. Many products contain these items but not in a form that the body can best utilise. Combine this with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals and you have a synergistic combination to help your autoimmune system heal and nourish inflamed joints.

The Supple website is very colourful and informative. It even has videos you can watch. They explain how their product works and provide testimonials. There is also a page explaining why their ingredients are superior, so much so, that they claim their “breakthrough formulation” provides “pharmaceutical strength” arthritis pain relief in a natural product that avoids the risks associated with drugs.

Losing weight is also important to relieving joint pain in the legs and hips. The providers of Supple also claim that their arthritis drink will help you lose weight, which has to be a bonus.

This delicious, fruity flavoured, answer to arthritis pain certainly appears attractive.

  The Grim Reaper

We’ve all heard about Vioxx, right?

But the pushing of this drug had such disastrous consequences, it’s well worth telling this dark little tale again…

Vioxx was developed as a powerful anti-inflammatory drug that could combat the painful effects of arthritis and rheumatism.

Basically the drug company knew there was a market for this product, and where there’s a market, there’s profit.

So they pumped $100 million a year into marketing the drug, to make sure everyone knew about it, and everyone took it.

But there was one little problem…

The Wall Street Journal reported that Vioxx eventually led to more than 27,000 heart attacks and sudden cardiac deaths.

Postively irritating when it’s making you $2.55 billion isn’t it?

So the drug company stuck their greedy head in the sand, and only pulled the drug when it absolutely had to.

Death’s not enough, but lawsuits… well, that’s serious.

And it’s not just Vioxx that causes problems…

Around 107,000 people are said to be hospitalized thanks to bad reactions with NSAIDS (”Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs” - the group of drugs Vioxx belonged to). And at least 16,500 NSAID-related deaths occur each year among arthritis patients.

If ever there was a set of statistics that would make me doubt the integrity of a large drugs company ever again, these are it. All my bleating might prove a point, but it doesn’t make your joints any better, does it.

So what CAN you do…?

Natural is best - again
